Nothing wrong with 9-5 | Daily #186

In today’s world, it is bad for some people’s perspective to work 9-5. Some would even call them being a wageslave and spending their majority of their time working.

I’m here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with working 9-5.

Wear your supermarket uniform with pride.
Wear your street cleaning uniform with dignity.
Wear your janitor uniform with confidence.

There is nothing shameful about these jobs.
You are putting in the hours to avoid begging, living in the streets and maybe even providing the best you can for your family. That’s in my eyes being warrior.

If you are doing whatever it takes to avoid reaching 0, that’s a good reason.

Do you know who probably also have 9-5s?

The delivery guys can provide you with food last minute.
The doctors and nurses that save lives.
The soldiers that are fighting with their lives to protect you.
The engineers that keep the internet alive so you be more knowledgeable.

They contribute to society.

More than some of these low-level (to be) millionaires laughing at you that you have a 9-5. I mean what to do they probably do? Create a brand that is aimed to sell you shitty products from China? Then they escape their country to live off cheaper in developing countries in South America or Asia? Do these sound like heroes to you? Think about it.

(Btw do you really believe they are there for the ‘weather’ and ‘good food’?)

Yes, it is probably good to have more income streams. Yes, it may be even good to invest your money. But quitting your 9-5, just because it is a 9-5? No.

If your 9-5 contributes to society, wear your uniform with pride and fuck those who laugh at you.
