I’ve been thinking about credibility. Can people believe what I’m saying? Am I good enough to even provide value? Who am I to my audience?
I’ve realized that my value is usually behind a barrier, like an app installs, paywall, or not public at all. With the exception of this daily-ish blog, but I’m not trying to become a good writer, am I.
I’m trying to build products and services.
But I don’t have an audience at all or very little. I have around 10-20 readers a week on this blog, 134 Twitter followers, and 36 followers on medium. This means I’m speaking to a wall.
I thought that building a product that solves my own problem(s), would also solve others their problems. In my experience, this is barely the case.
I have to find a community that I want to serve. Then I have to find a common problem that a portion of them have. Then I will see what value I can provide and provide them for free.
I need to provide more free value to show that I’m not a grifter.
I need to provide unconditional value.
