Day #21 | Moon Festival 2020

(Short one due to Moon Festival)

Today is the mid-autumn (or full moon) festival. It was celebrated for great harvest and prosperity as I understood it, but nowadays it used to have family reunions or gatherings.

This year I’m sure most families won’t have reunions. Mostly due to the COVID19 so people don’t want to get together as much.

But whatever.

I don’t usually go out of my way to celebrate it. But I do try to spend time with my family and close ones. So I usually try to have an hour or two with my close friends and have a good dinner with my family.

The one thing I do look forward to is eating moon cake. It is actually unhealthy and contains a lot of calories, but you usually only eat it once a year. So who cares, I like to eat them.

Asian families also give a box out or two for other families as a sign of respect and prosperity. So will give a few away as well.

All in all, I like the celebration of it. I’m a bit of a cultured person so I like that every culture has its own celebrations of beliefs.

I wish all my readers a great Moon Festival!
