Day #29 | Define your Ethics, find your tribe

Day #29 | Define your Ethics, find your tribe

As I tweeted out is that finding out what your values are is the most important thing in life. Let me elaborate on why.

Your values (ethics)  are rules that you can hold to yourself for a long time. Using your ethics and values will lead you to your real friends and family. Your true tribe if you will.

In a tribe, it doesn’t matter what you do. You could have been a blacksmith, fisher, hunter, herbalist, or whatever. If you showed that your values and ethics aligned you could join the tribe.

If the tribe had a value to never slay animals, but you did, you would have never joined. They wouldn’t want you either.

If the tribe had a value to steal as much as possible, but you didn’t, you wouldn’t join them as well.

It doesn’t matter what you can do as a profession. If your and their ethics don’t align both parties would be unhappy.

Interests come and go, but ethics stay.

Thanks to the internet, it is much easier to find your tribe. What ever your beliefs are, you can find people in the world who shares similar ones.

Whether you believe in enjoying life as much as possible, money is king, health is wealth, knowledge is power, or whatever you want to believe in, there is a tribe for that.

But always define your ethics and values first, else you will never feel at home cause you never found your true tribe.
