Day #36 | Deciding not to buy the iPhone 12
For my initial thoughts of the Apple October 2020 events, I wrote that I was interested in buying either the iPhone 12 Pro or Pro Max.
But after some thoughts and evaluation, I decided not to go for it.
All the improvements to the new phones compared to my iPhone X are great. But I just don’t need them at all.
My iPhone X still performs well since I don’t work or game on my phone anyway. Due to the current situation of COVID19, I don’t take as many pictures as well since I’m going outside and travel less. Then MagSafe while exciting what accessories companies can come up with, seems a bit gimmicky now. At last, 5G doesn’t feel like a good selling point at the moment.
The best selling point is the return of the iPhone 5 design but seems a bit too much to spend $1000~ just for that.
Due to these reasons, I’m not planning a buy any more of a new iPhone 12 anymore. Unless during the next twelve my phone decides to give up, which I don’t expect cause iPhones are pretty durable. (Or maybe if the Apple ProRAW technology is exceptionally great.)
The iPhone 12 product line is great, but due to factors like COVID19, the benefits don’t seem that useful. So I decided to not buy an iPhone 12.
