The urge to learn something new | Daily #255
If friends tell you to stick to your lane at all times, they aren’t your friends.
Now I’m not talking about in a work environment. If you get hired to do a specific job, then of course you need to stay in your lane and execute the job well enough.
I’m talking about the ones that tell you to keep doing something until you burn out or die. They secretly don’t want you to succeed. They don't want you to grow. They don’t want to see you see from software engineer to becoming marketeer. They don’t want you from introverted to on-camera extroverted.
Right now, I’m feeling the urge to learn something completely new. Well, even better, something I’m extremely bad at. Just have to decide which of those things are worth improving are.
That urge to learn is important though, cause I’ve to act upon it. Motivation is here now, thus have to try lots of things to see what I like to grow on. We all know motivation disappears over-time no matter how much you love your job. Discipline and consistency are what are important.
But that initial spark is to get the first steps done. That urge is a spark that can light up to something greater. Time to act on it.
